Temple Time

Aboriginal Performances

My coworker was able to get some tickets to an Aboriginal Show.  I really enjoyed listening to the beautiful voices and songs.  I didn't know what they were saying but it was an awesome experience!

2014 and here AGAIN!!!!

I never thought that I would be back living in Taiwan. It happened so unexpectedly that I'm STILL getting used to the fact that I am here.  Sunday, September the 21st will be a month since I've been back.  Time is flying by already and we are just getting started with classes.  So far, I have completed one English Corner Video, 2 phonics classes for 1st graders, 2 visiting school class in the gym, 3 clinic classes, parent day, English Club, lesson plans, and teaching aides.Talk about being busy!!  During the week, I normally go home and rest.  Okay. Let me be honest.  EVERYDAY I go home to cool off!  It is so hot and humid!!!  I remember this from my previous visit, but I can never get used to it.  It looks like I'm walking around with a wet sponge above my head and someone is constantly squeezing the water out of it. I bet I look really crazy to some of these people. Oh well!  There is nothing that I can do about it.
Not much has changed at Binjiang Elementary School other than the principal and some teachers.  Taipei City now has 12 English Villages!  I can not believe that!  When I left in 2011, there were only 2 and they were building the 3rd.  The government has been busy! I think the concept of an English Village is a good one.  We need a place like this in the U.S. for foreign language teachers and their students.

I thought I posted this but I forgot to hit publish. Lol!
